How do I register?

As of September 1st, registration is closed

Is there a registration fee?

$79 covers the costs of a day of training and education including materials as well as a day of lobbying followed by a celebration dinner reception.  Because of donations provided by many elder friends, a $35 registration fee is also available to those for whom the full fee would be a financial challenge.

May I assist others in being able to attend the conference with a donation?

Yes, your support will help make that possible.  You can donate here.

May I pay by check?

Yes, please make checks payable to Conscious Elders Network and mail it to:

                              Elders Climate Action
                              PO Box 905
                              Beech Grove, IN 46107.
Enclose a note with your name, full address including zipcode, email address and phone number (include your Congressional district, if you know it.)

Is there a deadline for registration?

We ask that you register by August 31st for these reasons:

1.  space is limited

2.  the process of scheduling appointments and organizing our constituent teams that will be meeting with members of Congress takes time and is complex.

3. Four weekly lobby training webinars start on Thursday, Aug 13th at noon EDT/ 9am PDT and will occur on the 4 subsequent Thursdays via teleconference. This training is essential for lobbying on September 10th.  We will be providing training on September 9th but strongly recommend you participate in the August training sessions.

If you miss a webinar, you can watch the training from an archived video.

If you have questions about this, please contact Paul@EldersClimateAction.org.

What if I have to cancel?

Conference fees are refundable until September 1st.  If you need to cancel, please notify us at Paul@EldersClimateAction.org

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

No, registrations are not transferrable.

Who is conducting the lobby Training?

Citizens Climate Lobby is providing the education and training for our participants to learn how to present our agenda most effectively to members of Congress.  You can learn more about them at citizensclimatelobby.org.  CCL has been lobbying for carbon legislation since 2007.

May I change the lobby schedule I receive?

If you cannot make the meeting(s) you are scheduled for, please contact Paul@eldersclimateaction.org.

Who will schedule the lobby meetings in DC

ECA volunteer staff

How are the lobby schedules created?

Participants will be assigned to representatives based on their home district.  If there are too many participants for a particular representative, they will be assigned to a member of Congress who doesn’t have enough participants attending from their district.

We kindly ask that you love the schedule you get.  The process of coordinating the schedule is complex and changes have domino effects.  Sometimes Congressional staffers request to limit the number of people attending the meeting.  If for any reason you cannot attend a meeting, please contact the meeting leader

Whom should I contact at ECA with my scheduling questions?

Must I attend the CCL Lobby Training in order to be in a meeting?

Yes, this session is mandatory for those who wish to participate in lobbying on Thursday.

How can I prepare to lobby in Washington, D.C.?

•We will be offering four 1-hour trainings, every Thursday night, via teleconference starting August 13th.  This is an excellent way to learn how you can make a difference in creating the political will for legislation that will wean our country off fossil fuels. Watch and listen to the CCL Trainings for GCAD.

•Additionally we will offer a 3 hour training on the afternoon of September 9th that will prepare you to speak with your legislators.

What do I do with all my GCAD petitions?

Please find information regarding petitions here.  Select "Signature Gathering Process Overview."
